Stevie Schrecengost

Freelance Writer

Online portfolio for Stephanie Schrecengost. She works freelance as a fiction writer (short stories, novels, and poetry) and book editor.

Stevie is a freelance writer and co-owner of the Hungry Chimera, a literary magazine. She graduated from BYU-Idaho at the end of 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a Creative Writing emphasis.

Using the pen name S.A. Barrie, she loves writing science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories as well as poetry. She has had several poems/short stories published in literary magazines. In 2014 she won a short story contest with Amberjack Publishing. This same story was also accepted and presented at the NULC (national undergraduate literature conference) in 2012. She was a semi-finalist in the L. Ron Hubbard “Writers of the Future” contest in 2017.

She is currently working on a sci-fi/fantasy novel, titled: Market. Stevie hopes that as she reads and writes, her skills will continue to strengthen and her opportunities as a writer will grow.

This website is an ever-growing portfolio of her work. When she’s not writing she enjoys reading, photography, drawing, painting, and hanging out with her family and friends.
